Sports Vlasic takes slap shot, but Sharks' defenseman says he's fine

He and Roman Polak each finished with a team-high four blocks in Sunday's win.Vlasic also led the Sharks with 24:03 of ice time Sunday and is averaging just under 23 minutes a game since the playoffs began."I feel good. I didn't practice (Saturday), I didn't practice (Sunday), so it's all about keeping your energy for the game and feeling good," Vlasic said. Going into Tuesday's Game 3 at Bridgestone Arena, Vlasic leads the Sharks with a plus-5 rating and 23 blocked shots in seven games.

East Oakland shootings leave two injured

OAKLAND -- A man was wounded Sunday night during a drive-by shooting in East Oakland, police said Monday.The 19-year-old man told police he was standing in the 8000 block of MacArthur Boulevard about 11:02 p.m. Sunday when someone in a car began shooting at him.He was hit in the leg as he tried to run away.The man got his own ride to a hospital where he was in stable condition.

The Aurora Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting at a McDonalds. McDonald's employees noticed that the man, who arrived at the store at about 5 a.m., had a gun, and called police, she said. Colfax Ave., are alright, police tweeted at about 8:30 a.m., Sunday."The suspect has non-life threatening injuries," according to the tweet.
