Man sentenced to 42 years in Denver cold case murder

A man convicted of killing a 23-year-old in 1996 was sentenced on Monday to 42 years in prison. Sheldon Long, 43, pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of second-degree murder, a Class 2 felony, according to a news release from the Denver District Attorney's office. Witnesses were interviewed again, which resulted in the identification of Long and his co-defendant, Antonio Domena. There they found Darryl Givens lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.Givens died at the scene.
