Colorado Supreme Court gets it right on fracking

"Like the ban on fracking that we invalidated in Longmont, Fort Collins's fracking moratorium renders the state's statutory and regulatory scheme superfluous," the court said. And fracking is considered a vital technique in those production efforts. Nevertheless, Colorado obviously has a huge interest in the orderly, safe and efficient production of energy, as the court pointed out. In fact, the court explicitly rejected the idea that the state has sole authority over oil and gas operations.
